This course from Impetus and Momentum will help you gain awareness and understanding of unconscious (or implicit) bias. Our brains filter information in different ways, so the courses reflect on where biases might come from, as well as ways to be more aware of your own biases - and how to manage and respond to them. 

 

Why is it important? 

Unconscious bias affects everyone, and the most harmful thing is that you don’t realise you have it. When you translate this to the workplace, it can create a multitude of problems if not addressed correctly. Addressing your bias, and more importantly, reflecting on ways you might mitigate this, is an essential step for any worker looking to role model inclusive leadership in the workplace.
